Obviously you can't see whats going on when you're sat in the back of the family stand with your mum :bigwave:
Negative pricks like you should go off and support "Man United".

Morons like you should f*** off and grow up. Let me guess cant take any constructive critisism of a player just cos he cost a few quid - it doesnt make him torres does it.. or maybee it does in your own sad little world

My sad little world? Says the one slagging off a player after seeing him play once.
How is "he's a bit crap" constructive!?
He cost around £100,000, not the 350k you're suggesting.
He was voted player of the month by a country mile for August.
Maybe it's only you that can't see why from alllll the way back there in the family stand

Still in Brighton
From what i have seen so far he is lazy, cant win headers and is not especially quick. I wont mention the diving and the pink boots - other than that I guess its £350k well spent!

1. seen him play three times, none of which would i describe him as lazy.

2. he does win headers but for hanging balls tends to jump much too early. needs coaching.

3. he's not a greyhound is he. certainly not slow tho.

4. yes, he goes down too easily.

1 out of 4 then. now go back back to your Roy of the Rovers comicbooks.

I think he had his least effective game so far on Saturday (not helped by some dreadful refereeing) but he looked a real handful at Millwall - a class apart from virtually oneone else on the pitch. Like several others he needs to turn it on at Withdean to shut the whingers up.

He hasn't quite clicked with Forster yet but I'd be surprised if they're not amongst the top 3 or 4 goal-scoring partnerships this year.

Is it my memory playing tricks, or is there something about tall strikers? They seem to get a disproportionate amount of 'stick' on here and in the stands. Looking rangey/clumsy/inelegant seems to colour people's judgement.

Not sure about this - thought I'd put it out there to see what ppl think.

Whittingham used to get the same criticism back in the day (72-75?) - similar build - similar shooting style - scored goals

I've seen him twice so far (bar pre-season, which doesn't really count).

At Millwall, he was superb. A constant handful, led the line really well. The only downside being that he could possibly have concentrated more on staying in scoring positions rather than chasing everything, but certainly not going to complain about a player working his nuts off.

Ridiculous to judge him at all on Saturday. He was putting himself about for the first ten minutes, but it was very obvious that the ref had taken a dislike to him from the start and would only have needed the slightest excuse to send him off. That's why he wasn't challenging for anything in the air. In fact, it was quite impressive that he had the common sense not to get drawn into a physical battle after his yellow or show any dissent (he had a couple of polite chats with the ref instead). It was arguable that he should have been taken off because the yellow had limited his effectiveness so much, but that wasn't his fault!

I think his tendancy to drift wide is the classic sign of a Striker finding his feet in new team and still lacking a bit of confidence after a terrible spell at Derby. I am SURE he will come good.

Next game watch him from the start, (as a scout would) count the number of headers, flick ons, runs into space he does, seriously good tackles (for an attacker our defenders could learn from him) and the ability to hold off 2-3 defenders while screening the ball, his first touch etc etc, he is quality and if he doesn't get pissed off with the lack of it in other areas of the pitch will be a very good buy at 350K and be sold for a lot more!

From what I saw at Brentford for a tall player he reminded me of Peter Crouch, very good at using his feet but maybe not a natural header of the ball.

The trouble is with a tall player, everyone thinks you just have to cross the ball on their head and it's a goal chance.

Another problem is that at an early age tall players don't have to develop their jumping ability. So by the time they are playing at a more senior level the other players have developed enough of a jumping ability that they often jump enough to compensate for the height difference.

I don't like many things, but Dickinson is certainly one of them. He has a lovely touch and daringly tried a little backheel on Saturday. He seemed limited in the air against Wycombe because they had 2 6ft5 centrebacks with some physical might attached.
The few times i've seen him this season make him seem to run his socks off at the start of the game, and of course wrongfully fling himself to the ground like a pair of filled knickers. He's not been drowned in possibility, but that's not because of his mostly tireless movement and inability to strike. I reckon he has something quite special inside him and a killer instinct. We just have to start delivering from out wide and give him something to feed off.

Have only seen him twice this season, but against Wycombe he was awful in the air. Won no more than a couple of headers and in most cases didn't even jump. Harty can win more in the air! Agree that he looks pretty good with the ball at his feet, but he will need to offer than that .... particularly if we insist on hoofing long balls up the field to him.

He is better than Murray.

That is clearly one of the most ridiculous comments ever posted on here.

Dickinson has by no means been our worst player this season - but worth £300k plus? Not convinced yet.

Two goals - one a massive deflection which he didn't even celebrate properly - and little to offer in physical presence.

Looks quick but also lacking the confidence to really go at defenders.

I think he has the raw talent, but so far I have not seen anything which would value him THAT much more than Craig Davies.

Decent? Yes. If he didn't dive and actually went for headers.

Better than Murray? What a joke. Whatever has since happened with Murray (wanting to leave etc) is still does not disguise the fact that last season, when fit, he was AMAZING. Anyone who saw him during games like Northampton and Leeds away or Cheltenham at home would vouch for that. He pretty much carried us.

He has a lovely touch on him, big oaf that he is. Seems to have a good brain between the ears too. You'd imagine he'd score 15 goals a season- clearly knows where the back of the net is. Bit of a pansy but then who isn't these days?

Having only been here a matter of moments i'd ask, what's not too rate?

Problem is that when one develops an early opinion of a player you often then just note the points in the play that reinforce your opinion. I've been as guilty of this as any - we all do it.

So if Seajon has the view that he is slow, can't jump, dives, is nasty top small children and doesn't give to charity, then that is all he will see - he won't see anything else. This thread will not change his mind.

I do think seajon's claim to be making "constructive critisism (sic)" is a bit rich. The first post is a two line slag off - hardly constructive but certainly betraying an entrenched view.
