Why are teams going into admin deducted 10 pts? It only adds to their problems. A normal business does not suffer extra penalties. Thank godness for Dick Knight.

Too right without Dick Knight we would have been put into the conference where all of the half decent players would have been sold and we would be nowhere near league one now!

How come Leeds got 15 points but Bournemouth only 10?

Levels the playing field for the struggling teams living within their means.

See your point of view, but surely the tean in admin has to sell all just to survive yet alone lose points.

If they didn't lose the points, they could profit from a promotion that, in truth, they couldn't afford if they'd been trading correctly. And, in the current crazy structure of the football pyramid, a promotion can be worth millions.

Those millions should only be available to the clubs who abide by fair trading principles.

The points deduction is aimed to stop clubs trying to live beyond their means, by spending money they haven't got to try to buy success, then going into administration, get rid of these debts at a fraction of the money that they actually owe, like 10p in the pound, then afterwards going out and repeating the process again, this then gives an unfair advantage over the other teams because they arn't forced to sell their better players to balance the bookswhich clubs who budget properly have to do to survive.

A big Well done and thanks to Dick Knight and the board for managing to keep the club afloat and functioning as a competitive team so high up the leagues when you consider alll the additional problems off the field that they have had to face

Leeds and Bournemouth were both docked 10 points, Leeds were last season after realising that relegation was inevitable, meaning that the wouldn't have a points penalty this season for going into administration.

The 15 points that they have been deducted this season stems from the club failing to sign the leagues CSA (Compulsary solvency aggreement?) and as such they were docked the points this season, although the league could have given them more severe penalties like kicked them out of the leagues altogether.

we were deducted 10 points for going into administration.

the 15 points was for not exiting admin via the FL preferred method (cva)the whole process behind that is going to be torn apart in court soon-ish will be interesting and not just for me as a leeds fan but for the fl/hmrc/other clubs also.

The reason why 10 point deductions were introduced was because clubs like Derby, Cardiff & Leicester were running up millions of pounds worth of debts and then going into administration. The owners would then buy the club back for a stupid amount, but without the debts - Exactly the same way that Archer did to us!

Therefore, to stop this from happening, the league introduced the 10 point deduction, which whilst being harsh, has actually stopped the likes of the aforementioned club taking the piss.

I do however feel sorry for the likes of Bournemouth who, again unlike Cardiff for example, aren't backed by big businessmen and who, like many clubs (Bury, Oldham to name but 2) have been totally shit upon time and time again buy the FA and the Football league.
