think we should know what they are expecting the prices to be as we could have paid for 2 months of our season ticket before we know how much we might be paying if we go up, Rumours i heard were it could be going up be 30% which is a lot to budget for as i have 3 to buy for.

It's jumping the gun a bit. Reminiscent of 'Please stay off the pitch while Sam and the lads complete a lap of honour'. It might even cause a bit of complacency to creep in on the playing side, who knows? We've not 'even' qualified for the play-offs yet. If and when we do, then that would be the time to announce any potential increase for the Prem. IMHO, like.

If the overall cost of a ST goes up 30%... £460 to £598... that is £31.50 a game in WSU... and increase of 57% on the present £20.

Poor call this, with £80m TV income as a reward an extra £2m from an increase ST prices is irrelevant..
Charlton did the opposite a few years back when in our div, sign up for two years ST in advance & if promoted to PL you get an extra years ST for FREE

Would you say No if it happened then ? It wouldn't be more than an extra £100.
it's still a guessing game - when this was first put forward a few on here reckoned 50% , last few 30% got knocked about - but a few people have made comparisons between us and QPR when they went up and reckon 40% ... just would be nice to know.

It has apparently come from people employed by the club that the rise will be 30%. What I can't understand is why the club will not make a statement. It could influence somebody in buying or not, or even their method of payment especially if 1 person buys for their family of 3 or 4.

For those that say no they can't afford it others will take up the option so the club will not lose out.

Stated in another thread I really can't see prices on the season tickets going up. The same annual price for three less games, no brainer, well it is to me.

The club have said in the renewal letters that the price will remain unchanged if we are still in The Championship but will have a rise if we get promoted. The only question is by how much?

I mentioned this when it was announced season ticket prices would be frozen. Surely the club know how much they intend to increase prices by? It's not as if they're going to pluck a number out of thin air if we win the Play-Off Final.

In WSL towards centre at present its £595. If the price stays the same and with the fewer games in the prem it would mean approx a 21% increase per game. So if we factor in the 30% increase as people here are suggesting with the additional 9% added it brings the total to £648.50. A total increase of £53.50. This is for one of the more expensive seats in the stadium so i imagine the north and WSU will be a little lower.

what they would need to do in that situation is completely re-write the budget - not something to be done lightly or if you don't need to.

they may well have an idea that an increase of something between 20% and 30% or more would be necessary but they can hardly give these guesstimates out officially as they would be misrepresented/taken as gospel/deter renewals etc etc.........................

time enough to do the math and publicise a figure when it is needed - the club will be very conscious of peoples' copncerns about the potential impact of large increases and from a reasonably impartial perspective I would say that their record in recent years is pretty good relative to the club's circumstances.

Think we should forget about this in the meantime.

I personally would begin to consider this particular scenario, should it arise, in which case I will be delighted !

Let's leave budgetary problems to those charged with that responsibility.

Yes if they charge the same annual fee but for less games (19 home in Prem or 23 home in Champ) that is an increase on the match day ticket price.
Who would complain with that?

I don't think that was what they meant or at least I didn't take it like that. The reduced number of games is another issue as I think they meant the actual money paid would be increased not the pro rata match fee.

That's my assumption: they haven't told us because they genuinely don't know. They've put a disclaimer about possible/probable price rises in the season ticket renewal letters to cover themselves but they won't spend time trying to cross that bridge until they come to it.
