Why blah?

When you are suggesting that someone talks a lot and is not all that interesting why do we say blah blah blah?
Why not something else? I think i'm trying to ask where the word originated from.

I know, i know. Blah blah blah blah blah...

Its when Harold's aide looked up to the sky and said "Sir...Theres an arrow heading straight for your head Sir"
Harold replied: "If nots not paying you enough its arrows falling from the sky blah blah blah its going to hit my head blah blah blah....OUCH!" :lol:
