Why are we playing Scunny ?

The only reason i can come up with is that they were the best team we came up against last season IMO and Mr slade wants to see if we can now compete ? other than that i havnt a clue why we find ourselves playing scunny away the weekend b4 the season starts.Your thoughts

Because we couldn't have a home friendly today and they were probably the only club from a higher division that would play us.

Ah forgot about the clashing with the pride parade just seems a odd choice there must have been clubs closer to home that wanted a pre season confidence booster than scunny though.

I think it's the issue that we couldn't get a home friendly, scunny were free and they took us apart with ease twice last season, so will be a good test.

I thinks the fact slade used to manage Grimsby and knows that part of the world well is probably the biggest factor, would explain torquay as well with the yeovil connection, also scunthorpe were promoted last year so would be a good benchmark.

We didn't know what division we were in, nor did they, therefore we both couldn't organise our friendlies before the end of the season. Therefore, we pared.
