Bit of a pattern forming there of cricket and rugby. Its probably because they play second rate sports half the country couldn't care less about, they have to find other ways to get noticed.

So dancing and singing against celebrity prats make them a member of MENSA?

:jester:

1. Obviously their sport gives them natural balanace and a lightness of foot, and coordination.

2. But you generalise they are only good in a few things i.e activities that require the above.

Just had a vision of him on skates in tight trousers, oh my god! I can confirm his multi-talented skills go as far as reading the newspaper whilst taking a dump :lolol:

Jimmy Bullard is apparently a very good golfer and fisherman!

Probably helps having all those afternoons off after training!

Lineker and the Neville brothers were also talented cricketers. I've also heard that Lineker was a more than useful snooker player.

I think a lot of it has got to do with a winning mentality. Dawson is a prime example. hates losing at antyhing so puts in a little extra to make sure he wins.

I think you answered your own question Dave, its their competitive nature I reckon....also because they're usually very fit they are quick to adapt to new sports....

Just like our verry own Joe Gatting, Phil Nevill was be chased by both Man U and Lancs CC.

And most Footballers are quite good golfers i think.

They are fit, have good eye co-ordination, good balance, and competitive nature. I would add generally as I doubt this applies to all players (i.e. props, centre-halfs etc).

Strettle (the Quins/England winger) was on Man City books up to the age of 14. He is also a talented athelete and basketball player.
