Incredible to watch the way he selected French players to bring into the game whenever he wanted to. He played Anelka in for both goals and on both occasions he waited for anelka to get himself onside before delivering the perfect ball.
Ronaldo in France in a world cup game against Chile(1998).
He was outstanding and the Brazilian fans were also amazing
Shame we cant make noise like them.
Of the lot the one that could change a game singlehanded was the geordie loon. Lawrenson and Klinsman were both very intelligent and hardworking players while Ward and Hoddle were both wonderfully talented but for sheer outrageous skill and ability it has to be Gascoigne.
Unfortunately the only time I saw Gazza live was the year before last when he was playing for Wolves reserves who play they home games at the Telford ground - he was way poor and was subbed at half time.
Most exciting to watch live (never been to an International) was Kevin Kegan - when he played for Newcastle and we played them at the Goldstone - he was class! His movement off the ball was incredible and it just got better when he had the ball .....
far too many to mention them all but top 4 would have to be Gullet, Hoddle, Van Basten and Emilo Butregano ( can't spell his name but he is working with Madrid if that helps ).
Agreed - when we went up there and beat them in the FA Cup in 1983 Dalglish was far and away the best player on the pitch. His vision and ability was simply phenomenal - but we still beat them!!
Very tough question as I have seen Dalglish, Brady, Romario, Jennings, Larssen and quite a few others.
I will go for Romario, saw him play twice for PSV, on the first occasion he was amazing and scored a hat-trick, on the second he was marked out of the game completely by a right back playing the game of his life, such is football. In fact, somewhat spookily, as I type this I am wearing a Vasco de Gama shirt with the number 10 on it, the number Romario had when he played for them.
I was fortunate enough to see Ronaldinho in his first season against Real Betis (but he did get injured in that match).
On the day I would say Luis Figo when England played Portugal in Eindhoven in Euro 2000. I hate to see England lose, but his goal from 30/35 yards was a cracker.
