BEER in the Qatar fan zone £11.60 for half a litre. Wow.
The other side of the coin is that Qatar new exactly what they were bidding (or bribing) for (and Fifa should have known the areas of likely conflict but still chose to fill their boots).I’ll watch the Ecuador games and probably have the England games on in the background (the team bores me to tears) but I won’t be watching as much as a usual World Cup.
Shouldn’t be in Qatar and shouldn't be in winter. I do have issues trying to force western ideas on a heavily Islamic country. If they don’t drink on the streets then who are we to say anything about to.
Their laws are not my consideration. How they have abused others creating this tournament is deeply troubling me when it comes to following it.I’ll watch the Ecuador games and probably have the England games on in the background (the team bores me to tears) but I won’t be watching as much as a usual World Cup.

John Oliver said everything about how I feel eight years ago. FIFA are evil. They are in cahoots with a modern slave state, but they have the football. I'm completely conflicted. I shouldn't watch. I should have no part of it. I feel that I'd be letting down LGBTQ+ people that I love, but I'm weak and I will find it so, so hard to resist.
Ecuador for the world cup then....Slightly off topic but I didn't realise this - Albion are in the money!! USD 10,000 per day per player
How much money will players receive at the 2022 World Cup?
There are only ten days left until the 2022 World Cup kick-off on Sunday, October 20 at 17:00 CET, when Qatar will face Ecuador in the opener. Footballers will be the central charwww.marca.com
Just have to hope that FIFA looks at this and changes its approach to how it awards the WC, unlikely I know but you have to hope.I dunno. You may be right. It doesn't feel like that now. Which is a shame for the players, who have reached the pinnacle of their careers.
It’s the hope that kills you. Or the construction.Just have to hope that FIFA looks at this and changes its approach to how it awards the WC, unlikely I know but you have to hope.
Well, yes. Except that Virgin has told staff on that flight that the newly (September) gender-neutral uniform policy does NOT apply to staff on that particular flight in case it upsets the Qataris. FFS Virgin.
And stuff a rainbow flag; wrap the entire plane in a rainbow and stick it to the homphobic bastards.
at those who decided it was the right thing to do to go out to Qatar to support their sportwashing tournament. Serves the b*ggers right.BEER in the Qatar fan zone £11.60 for half a litre. Wow.
Given that we have three of the best players in Ecuador in our team, I rather think their games will be fun to watch for us! Like you I think, I'm really not bothered about England - but will happily sit through nightly MotDs with a "players who'll get subbed off through heat exhaustion" bingo card...I’ll watch the Ecuador games and probably have the England games on in the background (the team bores me to tears) but I won’t be watching as much as a usual World Cup.
I’m expecting protests by players and fans, in support of women’s rights.I bet the Iranian games that are broadcast back home to Iran, will be either delayed feedback, muted, crowd noises dubbed or overplayed, or all of the above.
