Apart from Mo Mowlam, Thierry Henry is the most terrifying thing on two legs. If he carries this form into the Euro's, I just can't see England stopping him.
Hmm. It can be done. I don't recall Henry causing too many problems to English defenders Wayne Bridge & John Terry in their last two meetings.

True, Henry seemed a bit off-colour in both those Chelsea games. Was that down to him being well shackled by Terry, or was he just off his game ? I hope, for Englands sake, it was the former. But he is one of those players who can score any kind of goal. Free kicks, curlers from outside the area, one-on-ones, close range finishes. He frightens the life out of me.

Two games where Chelsea had their best two displays of the season and Henry missed a few that he normally would have put away blinfolded?

Probably wishful thinking to think they can do it again. The display last night from Terry and Bridge was lacklustre and the Chelsea team probably has more talent than the England team overall?

We will all be expecting an England win come the big day though and probably settle for "Glorious" defeat afterwards :(

Patrioticism is no substitute for class :p (and I speak from many years of seeing England prove that on the big stage)

I think the biggest advantage is the fact that it's the first game in the group. Both teams will so badly not want to lose. 1-1 written all over it.

Is this lateral thinking? Haven't got a clue how you surmised that from my previous comment :dunce:

Class we may lack but for sheer guts and working we would win hands down.

If i sit down and mull it over looking at us to france then on paper france.

But thats paper would you have said france would have beaten senagal in the world cup on paper yes in reality no.

and was there team that different from now only slightly.

As an albion suppoter you must know that if you dont have loyaty and get behind the team then you might as well go support some else

sometimes the fans belief makes the difference

But don't forget Simster, Wegner has admitted playing him out of position in those games. Look what happened when he moved back into the middle.. a hatrick against the scousers and four against Leeds ( Ok, I know they're rubbish) but...

Henry is world class and I fear that he might well tear us apart.

we can beat france, just not likely to. i think our players are as good as theirs first 11 anyway, if not better. they have cisse out and we have dyer out up to now. apart from henry, who is better than any of our forwards. zidane has been better but our midfield is strong now.

We can easily beat France on our day.

As mentioned though being the group opener it has draw written all over it.
