Unfortunately it is likely to be someone like (if not) Paris Hilton

She is searched for more than Princess Diana, Adolf Hitler and Mother Theresa combined...

Spears and Hilton top WWW searches in 2006

2006 proved to be a star struck year for web surfers. Hollywood's famous and infamous captured search engines Google and Yahoo. Both have compiled their top searches for last year and Google's is an interesting mix of celebrity and current events.Advertisement

Number five is Hurricane Katrina. A year later, the tragedy continues to flood peoples' minds. It was an event in 2005 that not only devastated much of the Gulf, but impacted the entire country.

Number four is podcasting. The web-based broadcasts are a new way to listen to music and get information from health to fitness.

Number three is a word no one wants to hear, cancer. It seems many were looking for a better understanding and treatment of the various forms of this puzzling disease.

Hollywood hunk Orlando Bloom, Johnny Depp's sidekick in Pirates of the Caribbean, took the number two spot.

And, the number one Google search, Hilton heiress and Hollywood favorite party girl, Paris Hilton.

Or a pre-flounce Uncle Spielberg. The flounce took his visibility down a few notches.

At the moment possibly someone like Saddam hussain.

Actualy...hes not living anymore,so cancel that.

I would probably go for someone like David Beckham well above the Queen, because having spent some time in Iraq recently,i can tell you that just about everyone over there has herd of David Beckham (bearing in mind they dont have TV,radio or newspapers),but probably not many of them know who the Queen is.
