I'd be a reluctant Biden voter. We don't need another insane four years coming out of the U.S.

It's a shame the Democrats haven't produced a younger centrist talent like Obama. The election would barely need a footnote.

I worry what happens if Trump loses up until the end of January. It could get ugly.

Makes our system look like it's full of integrity. Trump wouldn't even get near a constituency endorsement.

He's had four years to deal with that.

He was supposed to be putting Clinton in jail.

What happened there ?

Hopefully it will be Biden, but "democracy" and the American Presidential election are two very different things. The fact that different states have different methods of allocating the collegiate vote, some giving the entire states votes to the winning candidate, others doing it on a pro rata basis is to me , incomprehensible. The fact that the college delegates can even totally disregard the actual state election result and vote for who they think should be president is the exact opposite of democracy.

I know we have faults with our system but seeing as the US election isn't about what senator or congressman you want, but literally what individual you want to be president then why on earth isnt it just the popular vote winner!

Would only have taken one redneck with a gun to convert Obama to Biden back in the day. I really don't think he's that bad compared to an orange, conspiracy theory loving Nazi with a Covid denial problem.

On the result though, Biden will win the popular vote comfortably but the state by state college votes that actually decide it will be much, much closer. If Trump loses that by the close margin I think he will, watch for a Trump power grab with accusations of a Russian coup, election fraud and fake news.

I liked Biden under Obama, but now he seems like he is struggling. I can't see him going through a second term fit for office. But let's hope for the first.

The electoral college is bizarre. Clinton actually won last time. It defies belief.

The fact that Trump could even be close leads me to think that America gets all it deserves including mass shootings.

How can the New World have gone so wrong.

I think Biden will win, and the key reason for that is Covid-19.

Is surely the correct answer. Biden will now win comfortably IMO

Like him or not a COVID free USA in 2020 would have seen Trump win at a canter.

He HAS done what he said he would do in terms of the economy and put America first. He hasn't started any overseas wars. The economy was booming.

But COVID has changed everything - he has handled it appallingly and floating voters have seen this.

He's almost certainly going to lose a lot of the Swing States he won last time such as Wisconsin, Michigan and possibly even Florida.

It's goodbye Donald.

Think you might want to rephrase that post. What a horrible thing to say?

That's AMERICA not americans as on a personal and local level its clearly devastating.

In a situation where the system is the reason this happens and the same system uses its own rules as a defence that means it continues can you not see my point.

If anyone wants to do a deep dive into all the permutations the last segment here goes very deep:-

https://podcasts.google.com/?feed=a...iMmEzNzYtZWIwZi0xMWVhLTk5YjQtYmIwMzNjZjBjMDI3

I think it starts at about 70 minutes in.

If you don't want the commitment, they basically say, Biden has it almost won, already, and if you're looking for markers Fl, Pa & Az are the states to watch on election night.

You will love this site. All the stats graphs and permutations you could wish for.
