Me me me....
Turned down the job in Revolution (in the basement of Kings West/ Top Rank) back in 1982. Offered me £20 a night for two nights a week when I was already on that working 6 nights a week. Great ego boost though being offered the job.
BCM Magalluf I played three songs in front of 6000 people around 1990. I was DJ'ing in the Pink Elephant 7 nights a week to around 1000 a night and went in BCM a lot. Knew the DJ (Damian Doran) who let me loose for 10 minutes. Played Rob Base - It takes Two plus a couple of other tracks.
Also played Sinatra's, Bananas and a couple of others in Magaluf before BCM opened as all the clubs were owned by the same company.
Back in the UK from 2000 and getting older I found weddings paid a lot more.

It was your comment on another thread that inspired me to start this one

Dinos was a great little club, closed down due to fire regulations, only one exit. San Francisco was a shite pre chav chavvy club for drunk aggressive Brits.

Best clubs in San Antonio were Nitos and The Playboy. Pepe Rosello who owned the Playboy went on to open Space and the rest is history.

Pepe is still going strong.

Welll, it’s well-known that Norman Cook is registered on NSC. Is this a covert attempt to flush him out and inadvertently reveal his username…?

Really?

Well I hope the mention of Space does indeed flush him out :lolol:

There is a well know DJ called James Hype. He is on YouTube showing his weekly gigs. As a side, he thinks nothing of hiring a private jet for a weekend to get to 4 gigs in 3 days in different countries. Someone is making money.
ANYWAY, a recent video on YouTube had him telling of the first club he went to when he was 17 or so. It was BCM. Wow I thought, maybe I've met him.
He went around 2010. 20 years after me! Blimey, I'm getting very very old. His camera guy was born in Magaluf, don't think he's my son.

Spent years DJaying with the Large One and others, usually for 5 to 15 pounds a night. A couple of years later Soul Jazz mob made a killing from literally playing the same records.

I used to dj at various air bases I was posted at, during the late 80s & early 90s, playing mostly dance and soul stuff.
Occasional discos for families clubs, sgts and officer's mess do's where the trend was 60s and popular genre.

Speaking of Norman Cook, I was cycling down 'millionaire row' the other day and a few of the cars has his logo on it.

I must say I was expecting more from millionaire row, it was basically just a street of terraced housing 🤨
