he's dead now but the mad muller used to be a classic, lived near portslade station and used to sit outside his house in a deckchair on the pavement, used to walk back and forth to brighton several times a day with his poor dog which eventually succumbed to fatigue, mad mullers dress code was normally just underpants (i think he was starkers a couple of times also), used to wear just one pink sandal and spout rubbish all day long

Everyone must have seen that skinny old fella who marched up and down Western Road waving and giving the thumbs up to all the bus drivers. Not seen him for a while mind - perhaps he's toddled off to the great bus depot in the sky.

that's wavey davey, as we call him, and are apparently not alone in doing so!

haven't seen him for at least a year, he was it must be said, getting very demented towards what i expect was his end. nice bloke though

The bloke who seems to spend is life walking to Ditchling beacon from Brighton and back.

Always wears a green snorkel parka done all the way up so his face is never seen and has a rucksack.

I used to see him marching along the grass verge along ditchling road all the time. The bloke wears the parka like that even in the middle of summer.

I've seen that bloke running up the Dyke Road in the middle of the summer, dressed as if it's ten below outside! What a nutter.

Is he the old guy with a brown overcoat ? If so he has been waving for the last 30 years or so. I remember the guy at the Old Steine and East Street who started begging for 20p for a cup of tea , then went down to 10p and finally "can you spare a penny ?" , very sad.

I remember the 10p man down East Street, he was very well spoken, tall and had a big beard.
Another I haven't seen for a while is the man with a grey crew-cut who walks alongside the kerb and points at the buses as they come along the road. But this maybe because I don't go into town as much I used to.

Ha - Haywards Heath legends. Fagbutt Frank is a bit scary though! I worked in The Bay Tree in Haywards Heath and although he was banned he used to come in and try and nick our milk, then he'd walk round the outside tables and nick peoples mugs and take a sip out of them. Once he even took a piss on one of our tables - lovely!

Frank is actually the unscariest person you could possibly meet - he is the vunerable one, not you. known him since i went to school and he has never raised his hand to anyone.

admittedly, he did cause carnage in The Orchards (try explaining to him that he is banned from going there...) but the only time he can get a bit uperty is if people give him booze as "a joke" (yeah, good one).
