Only positives here so I'd say Navarro is the better.

Think that Crofts once he has settled will become another Dean Hammond type player.
Sadly that won't be appreciated on NSC. Hammond was never appreciated by most Brighton fans when he was with us, but once he left it was obvious what we had lost and we still have not replaced him.

Crofts is a good player, very tidy, not spectacular, will get in tackles, and cover ground and will pop up with the occassional long range goal. Anyone remember the goal he scored for Gillingham at the Withdean a few seasons ago?

Navarro. Crofts has shown signs of being a quality player, but as someone said earlier, We will se the best out of him if Dicker partners him in the middle. Ive seen all bar 2 games this season and Navarro has looked gash!

Neither - if they're playing for the Albion then they're good enough for me

I reckon Crofts is a lot worse. Navarro's problems stem from the fact he is in poor condition and unable to get around the pitch as quickly as someone in his position should. He does actually know what he's doing, and he can play the holding role well, it's just his body doesn't allow him to. Crofts just seems to me, and has done from the first day of the season, to be completely devoid of any talent. There's just nothing there. No imagination, no passing ability, no pace, no attacking threat, no strong tackling, no reading of the play. He's out of the Revell/Fraser school - run a lot and hope it makes up for everything else.

The sad thing is when you put your mind to it (like in the Slade out poll) you have some really good and reasoned opinions. Sadly, with some players you put blinkers on and can only see either their good side (Kuipers for example) or their bad side (Fraser and now Crofts). It is clear that you decided before seeing him that Crofts is the new Fraser (who I thought never deserved the stick you gave him despite being limited) and you will now give him a 2/10 in player ratings even if he scores a hatrick. Personally, I can't understand that and think he has shown himself to be a decent player already and will probably get better.

From what I have seen, Crofts is the better player but I am not going to vote on this poll due to the negative phrasing of the question. I also think they will both have a part to play this season although I would choose Dicker and Crofts as first choice.

Revell's hattrick on New Year's Day against Bournemouth was a bit special, you moaning bastard.

Seriously, what a thread. Brilliant. I voted for Navarro because he's keeping Dicker out of the team, no other reason than that. I think it's FAR too early judge any of our new signings and I'm sick of people doing just that. :wrong:
