the season is still long, no doubt more players will be signed on loan or free and then we have Rodgers/Blackwell/Oatway to come back from injury...McGhee has only been here a week so its early doors yet.

If Zesh comes back and shows the form he had when he first came into the team, then he will be a MASSIVE asset - I've said it before, he is one of those players who can make the whole team tick when he's on song, and he already capable of orchestrating and dominating a midfield at this level. When his performances dropped, so did the whole teams, so I am just hopeful that McGhee can get the best out of him, like Coppell did.

Dunno about this other young whippersnapper, but I'm not going to start grizzling about his age and inexperience. These are McGhee's first signings, and you have to back his judgement until we can make our own. McGhee's seen Yeates in action, we havn't. Give him a chance, he might just have something.

Signing zesh is not really the point. we need more than that we need more than a young unproven player. if he does well then i will hold my hands up but i cant see that happening

Bollocks.
Zesh looked quality when he first appeared down here, he is EXACTLY what our midfield needs. Someone who can tackle, put their foot on the ball and pass it to someone wearing the same shirt, gets up and down the pitch, crops up in the area and can score goals. What more do you want ??

We KNOW Zesh is capable of this. He went off the boil under Booker, but I reckon McGhee will get the best out of him.

Absolute tosh.

McGhee has been banging on about getting more experience,
Well, Rehamn got all his experience with us and Yeates has none whatsoever....

methinks he didn't get what he wanted.:nono:

Christ-all-bloody-mighty you miserable bastards.
Talk about writing off a player before you've even seen him. Lets start the doom and gloom if Yeates turns out to be shite, until then, how about haveing a bit of faith and giving the fella a chance. Just cos he's young and we've never heard of him, everyone assumes he's going to be crap.

DO we REALLY need to go over some of the young never-bloody-heard-of-them players we've had down here who have gone on to do quite well for themselves ? Stop whining like bitches and give the fella a chance, or at least a bit of encouragement.

And how the frig can you "know what I think" you plum ?
Just cos my opinion on here differs from yours, don't kid yourself that I am posting under some kind of hidden agenda and that I in fact agree with you.

Bloody hell, didn't know we had Uri Gellar posting on here.

Im not saying he is gonna be shite, but he has a lot of pressure if we are pinning all our hopes on him.He is not gonna make that big a difference. P.S. Not slating zesh coz he is class

All this talk of wanting "PROVEN" players seems a bit optimistic to me. If we sign a proven player he is probably washed up now ... Lee Sharpe anyone?

Whereas a proven player in his prime ... you're having a laugh, why would a player like that be sent on loan to us.

Nah, lets go for talented youngsters and hope one of them is the new Sidwell or Zamora. None of us had heard of them when they were signed on loan, but I bet there is no-one on the list who wouldn't want them back now.

I just can't believe how negative everyone is today.

Who says we are "pinning all our hopes on him" ? There are 10 other players that I pin my hopes on every week, that won't suddenly alter cos we've got a youngster in on loan.

I can't beleive some of the stuff I'm reading.
We are 4th in the league and have just signed 2 players.
Rehman is qulaity and McGhee has clearly recognized that. He had a few poor games for us but hasn't played under MM yet. If MM can get him playing anywhere near his potential he is a quality signing (We've had Pethick in Midfield for 3 games for crying out loud!)
Yeates may be unproven but so what. As other people have said so was Zamora. I personally think the 2 strikers we have are doing a good job. If Yeates can do better then great. If not at least having another striker on the books will put pressure on Knight and McPhee who until now have been automatic choices.

Some people seem to just want to moan at anything. No doubt there will be some idiots shouting abuse at McGhee on saturday from behind the dugouts. Get behind him for God's sake - At least see how his signings play before criticizing him!
