I feel reasonably confident that we wont be relegated this season.

My concern is that despite the fantastic talent we now have at the club.. ( and have had for most of the season ), with players such as Dunk, White, Webster, Macallister, Llalana, Bissouma, Lamptey, Veltman March and Sanchez, yet we are still floundering just two places above the relegation zone.

It is only because Sheffield Untied and West Brom have been so shocking this season that we are not actually in the bottom three.

Bad luck doesn't follow you around for 30 games.

1 PPG keeps you out of the bottom 3 pretty consistently throughout the PL era. This has nothing to do with how poor SU or WBA are - every year 3 teams will score under 1PPG. It would be an anomaly of a season for a team on 32pts after 30 games to be in the bottom 3.

While results haven’t been as anyone would like, performances consistently have and that’s what still sticks you on 32 pts with 8 to play - performances pick up points, even when results don’t fall your way. GD also a big indicator of that.

The question I find interesting here, is what are the chances that we have enough points already?

So really i'm asking what are the chances Fulham get 5 or fewer points from their remaining 7 games or Newcastle get 2 or fewer ... (possibly we can't rely on GD if we've lost our 8 remaining)

I still think that's around a 20% ish chance. That will rise sharply if Fulham have another bad result on Friday.

For clarity I don't think we will lose the rest of our games. It's just a thought process I use to make me feel better about our predicament.

It doesn’t follow you around for 30 games, we’ve had the odd win this season where things have fallen for us and we’ve got the 3 points which maybe didn’t deserve.

However the number of matches where luck has not been on our side this season blows the above out the water. It’s fair to say anyone who has watched every game this season would agree we should comfortably be 5-10 points better off and not worried about a thing.

The idea that luck evens out over a season is cobblers....

Fulham have to get 2 wins and another point due to our superior GD to catch us. And that’s not taking into account our game in hand.

According to projections we have a 1% chance of relegation. A win against Everton may be enough. Even if we don’t I’d back us not to get zero points in our remaining games (we seem to be pretty good at drawing).

Tenner.

I don’t actually think we’ll go down, but I thought 40/1 was too big. Was just curious to see if any of the negative loudmouths had done similar. Strange if not.

Hear hear. Let’s see those betting slips.

I certainly don't think we are out of this at all.

Leeds and Sheff Utd are probably the only teams who we'll play who have nothing to play for. Lets face it Leeds are going to be wanting to stick one on us after we shamelessly stole Ben White away from them. Sheff U are playing every game like its a cup final and surely the players are going to be wanting to put themselves in the shop window.

Wolves are probably safe but could still get dragged into it.

West Ham and Chelsea have top 4 to play for. Everton still in the european hunt and I can see Arsenal making a late charge given their run in.

Man City will be champions by the time we play them but they could put their drunk second string out and still win.

Basically I think we need to hope we are safe going into the last 3 games.

Think Fulham will do a bit better than some people think . We need in my opinion 4 more points to be safe .

Wolves are pretty naff since Jota left and without Jimenez so can see Fulham scraping 3 points on Friday as they have to.
Could do with Burnley/Newcastle being a draw but this could be seen as the game where Newcastle get a win.
Ultimately i think Fulham will go, their capitulation on Sunday at Villa was comical especially in a game that they were gifted a goal and Villa looked toothless until Trezeguet and Davis came on.

I am not sitting back and relaxing on this yet

This is where I am Icy,
I'll continue to pick us to go down in the hope that I'm seldom correct in my predictions and certainly won't be lulled into a false sense of security, we have the hardest run in in my opinion and we can certainly not relax.

I'm also led to believe, by THE Leeds fans, that if we were to go down, they are automatically granted the right to sign Ben White in the summer, so they have that incentive, too.

Err sorry, I had heard that they've progressed way beyond White and he would now be nowhere near good enough for them
