I am going for the fairytale, Jakub Moder.
Goes from being on the edge of being transfered as a make weight for Dewsbury-Hall, forced into the team because of injury, smashes 20 goals from midfield, breaks all records for tackles won, clocks the 3 fastest sprints in the PL, and gets more assists than DeBruyne.

Or it might be Kadioglu.

I think I know which of those 2 scenarios is more likely 😉

Veltman for me - watching him lift the corner flag at home last week, watching him yesterday winding Tross up at every opportunity and baiting Rice into getting sent off … as well as defending well, I am going to enjoy watching him enjoying his football this season.

I think the squad and fans will benefit from regaining some of the joy and fun in this season’s campaign that we lost under RDZ last season. Veltman brings that onto the field.

Tough one I know as very few are likely to be a guaranteed first choice as things stand and there are some quality looking new signings.

I can’t decide between Barco and Facundo although some of the new attacking signings may come to the front as the season unfolds

You?
Seville and Leicester games seem to be on your agenda 🤣

JPvH or João Pedro. Both indispensable.

Interesting so many people are answering the thread question with who they think will be the team’s best player this season.

If you actually meant by the thread title ‘who will be the best player in the squad this season’, I would say impossible to compare apple and oranges but Minteh and Mitoma would definitely be up there along with Pedro.

If you did actually mean “favourite Albion player” this season, I would stick with Veltman (and add Welbz to that too).

Last season like you, my ‘favourite Albion players’ were Buonanotte and Barco (and may have been this season too if they weren’t out on loan) but they certainly weren’t the best players by a long shot.

It was meant to be “favourite” player. I know that Barco and Buononotte are not our best players…..yet!

That post didn't age well.

Of the new signings I would say Minteh or the Turkish chap who's name escapes me.

I want it to be Verbruggen because it means for the first time in forever we have an actual competent number 1 keeper

But if it's a keeper, on the other side it probably means we've been crap

So I'll go with Mitoma
