Not sure about heroes but I admire...

Ilunga Mwepu (or Mwepu Ilunga)

I would say as far as heroes go, the only people I would genuinely class as heroes would be the people who thought in the World Wars.
Also a mention for Nye Bevan, John Smith and Tony Blair.

A good question, not sure to be honest. A bit of a cliche but Che was a pretty cool dude who sacrificed an easy existance to liberate various places. I was also upset when both John Peel and Joe Strummer died.
