But in the wardy era everyone (except Alan Ball) wore black boots, so it looked OK. These days, white socks with white or silver boots looks, well, just a bit ballet like, you know?

Yep would have preferred blue socks too but glad at least we don't have white shorts, there is a definite psychology that makes a team look rather lightweight with too much white in the kit (forget real Madrid 'all white' kit our player ain't at that level yet).
Last season's mostly blue kit looked much 'stronger' than previously and I'll bet a large percentage of fans will be looking at the black/green kit as their favourite for next season.
