...........why don't you see it anymore?

It seemed to go out of fashion by the late 80's but was always where you and your mates wanted to play football regardless where you set your jumpers.

Think it's what put me off playing in goal.

I think it was because the dog food of that time contained more calcium, hence the grey white dried dog eggs

It's because no one picked it up back then, hence why it turned white, because it sat there for so long. I suspect if you take a visit up north, then not only will you find white dog shit, your also be back in the 80's :)

They put colouring in dog food so it was more visible.

It's because back in the day dog owners were more likely to feed them with real bones from the butcher. My pooch still has the white turds. I feed her chicken carcasses from the butcher. The ones they sell to make stocks. It's all the bones full of calcium.

Modern dogfood is pretty bad in my opinion. When I switched to raw the amount of shit she produced dropped dramatically, it's not so horrendous to pick up when we are out walking. Plus 10 quid of chicken carcasses gets you 15kg of chicken that'll last her about 4 weeks.

I saw some stats that showed a correlation between the rise in tinned dog food and a reduction in life expectancy for dogs.
