From Sky Sports Website, comment from DK who do you think he's talking about?

But Knight also admitted there has been interest in the vacancy from abroad with a high-profile coach keen to take over the Second Division table-toppers.

He added: "I was contacted by a foreign manager who has managed in the Champions League in the recent past.

"That simply demonstrates the high profile of this club."

When was Tigana in charge of a champions league team in recent past. Recent past says to me two or three years and he was at Fulham for that period of time.

What about Roy Hodgson

I heard that Fabio Coppello and Marcielo Lippi were both interested in the challenge :dunce:

Tigana managed AS Monaco in the Champions League before he joined Fulham, the 98/99 or 99/00 season i think.

Tignana would be a sound choice - good contacts, nice stle of football and he knows how to get out of the 1st division!! :lolol:

Tigana would be great, he fits the bill perfectly for the kind of manager we need and imagine those contacts!!

It isn't as if money would be a very important thing with Jean either, after that half mill compensation from Fulham.

Hmm, that's what Kanchelskis said...until he decided that we weren't offering enough that is.

To be honest if he were to come, we would be a club at the end of his list. He's managed in the premiership and he must have been aiming at a 1st division side (why not Reading? Grrrr) at least.

I'm suprised he has been out of a managers job for a little while now. I wonder if no-one wants him? I would like to know what kind of dressing room manner he has. Anyone know?

Don't want him. Firstly, I can't see him getting excited about managing from a portakabin. Secondly, hardly another long term choice. He'd be using us as a stepping stone and this time right from the off. First offer of ANYTHING better and he'd be gone. Thirdly, what experience of this level of the English game does he have ? hardly a job tailor made for him is it.

Beeneys - why not? I'm sure Peter Taylor was on a lot more at Leicester than what he got down here. Tigana is out of work - better to get something than nothing at all, especially if he hasn't been inundated with offers from elsewhere
