As a casual viewer I think it is a lot better to watch and more exciting with the open play as opposed to many scrums and matches usually decided on penalties.

The rules of Union are straightforward? The basic rules may be simple but a novice has no chance of knowing what is going, for a large part of the game, in Union whereas League rules are dead simple. You could explain them in five mins.
