I know we’re supposed to hate Palace but there are other clubs whose fans are far more loathsome; not just Chelsea but Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool.
Portsmouth also worth a mention.

I‘ve had an intense dislike for Chelsea since 1967 before I even knew Crystal Palace was a football club. I also know a couple of decent Palace fans, that I’d rather spend an evening with than any Chelsea supporter/fan.

Obviously, I love it when we beat Palace, but that’s as far as it goes.

It's Palace, but I always want Palace to be our rivals, and for that to be the case they need to be playing at a similar level to us, so I would be happier if Chelsea went down, and Palace were just always a little bit behind us in the table. Beating Palace is more important than beating Chelsea, Chelsea being shit is more pleasing than Palace being shit.

This. One of my neighbours is palace and we fairly regularly have sensible discussions about football. Yes, I laugh when they lose, laugh at their always ultras (so does my neighbour btw) and obviously always want to thrash them, but hate? Nah, not really.

Chelsea on the other hand can f*** right off.

This. Palace and BHA are in the trenches together in this skewed league, as much as that doesn't sit well with the pantomime rivalry narrative. Proper fans who support their local club when many living up there would be an Arsenal or Chelsea plastic.

Can't get up the enthusiasm to hate Chelsea, regardless of recent history. They are such a meh club to the wider footballing world. Villa and Leeds for me. Arsenal failing is also a marvellous prospect.
