oddly enough they dont very much care for my suggestions concerning The British Falkland Islands or even the night i laid on a Junta fancy dress party in their honour.
as i said they can be quite difficult to please.

Also, it may not be as famous, but Avebury is far better than Stonehenge if you're out that way and is free. I know Stonehenge is a must for some but it truly is the most underwhelming and overpriced tourist experience in the UK IMO. £16 for an adult to walk around it from a distance

When we have foreign visitors we take them to Betty's in Ilkley, but that's a bit of a trek for an for an overpriced coffee and fat rascal!
Manchester is a good day out, maybe a tour of OT? North Yorkshire / Lakes for some country air & fish and chips at Whitby...
Edinburgh too if always a good trip too.

We took two Americans we had become great friends with whilst on a cruise around Sussex.

Met at gatwick
Drive to slaugham and a walk to the church, through the churchyard ( see the 1200 year old ash tree and the tableaux at the grave of nelson's niece. The a nice walk to see the ruined abbey.
Lunch at the Bolney stage and a walk around Bolney, through the churchyard to the Bolney cricket ground.
Drove through the countryside, petrified Charlie who is not used to sitting on the wrong side of the car..and over to wakehurst place. Around wakehurst house, walk in the gardens and saw the seed bank.
Drive back to gatwick.

Terribly middle class thing to do, but they absolutely loved Sussex even though they had travelled all over the world, and want come back again

I'm struggling with this one, for once you've stumped me.

I always wonder why so many tourists come to London in particular. Obviously it's different for me because I've lived there but it doesn't feel very tourist friendly and I wouldn't say it is a particularly attractive city. I don't get it.
