I find this a little unusual as I would have thought this would have been ready to go for when the inevitable signing happened

I thought he was decidedly average half way through the season, but I got it wrong. He was a class act.

This is a big step forward on what we have at LB now.

Turn the clock back and people would be laughing if we were considering ward over Wayne bridge. He was class at this level. Ward is 'ok'

Ward is better going forward than Bridge, and 5 years younger (I think). Even if we go up we've sorted our left back position for three years. It's a great signing IMO.

Wasn't Bridge on £90k a week, which Man City were paying ? Not sure what Reading were paying him, but way more than we'd ever pay I'd guess

Ward was my player of the season. Wholehearted and passionate. Few goals came from his side. He scored a couple and assisted more. If you had to have 11 of one player in a team it would be Steven Ward.
