I was at a networking event for work today and my albion tattoo got noticed by a Chelsea “fan” (henceforth referred to as scrote) who proceeded to barrage me about MC.
After trying and miserably failing to shake him off politely, I finally gave in and explained that TB and PBOBE have a figure which may or may not be £100m. I suggested it could be £200m for all we know.

Scrote started to explain to me how negotiations work.
Something along the lines of “You want £100m, we offer £60, you come down to £90, we offer £70m and both agree at £80m”.

Scrote just couldn’t comprehend that, whilst there may or may not be a value at which we would sell, the club do not really want to.

More babbling about imprisoning MC and we only paid £4m for him etc. I explained that my father purchased his house for £25k in 1985 and it was now worth circa £850k so should I expect him to sell it to me for closer to £25K because that’s what he paid for it at the time? I resisted wasting my breath in appreciation and inflation.

Astonishingly one sided view and the complete inability to see the other side staggers me.

Thankfully I was saved by some people who actually wanted to talk to me sensibly (and could possibly see the vein in my temple glowing purple).
Said scrote has obviously worked out how negotiations work by watching too many episodes of Pawn Stars.

Yes, I've moved from phlegmatic resignation to cautious optimism. Still reckon it's 70/30 that he goes.
I was adamant after signing the new deal a few months back he wouldn’t go this window. Then I was consigned to being wrong. Now I’m starting to believe a little again. He’s that young, he should stay with the Albion at least another 2 years imo. Experience European football and play for a great manager and club etc. no need to rush these things so young. Ignore the twat agents and obnoxious ‘big clubs’.

I see that Chelsea fans are adamant that Caicedo is the perfect partner for Enzo Fernandez........................in which case we should sign the latter. 80m should do it.
He's crap though

Sorry to disappoint, the Saudi window ends 3 weeks later on the 20 Sept!
He won’t be going to Saudi at his age.

I just wonder whether the love from the players awards night/ a possible loyalty bonus/ clause in his contract to let him go at the end of this season for say £80m, plus a word in his ear from his mum after he gave her his awards, has done the trick.😂

Or
we are just baiting Chelsea to pay a staggering £100m plus fee.

I think if he is still here by the Luton game, he’ll stay. It’s now or never for Chelsea.

I’m still well beyond 90% he’s outta here in the near future.

Does your use of ‘near future’ cover the January window? Does it cover next Summer? Does it cover just this Summer?

Be wary there is a teenage Chelsea fan works on the checkouts in Aldi Royal Wootton Bassett, I got similar from him last weekend when i popped in for milk (was wearing aBHA Tshirt).....MC is being held against his will and he was not worth the money we want....I tried explaining its what hes worth to BHA but I was talking to a slug....paid and left
