A 21 year old with a glittering career ahead of him, ending up in that manufactured football desert? All for the money?

He's going to earn millions and millions and millions of pounds in just one year. He could quit football after 1 single year and retire and he and his loved ones could live like royalty quite easily for the rest of their lives.
He might not want to play football and have a glittering career ahead of him for the next ten years.
He might not enjoy it that much.
He's 21, people are idolising him and throwing tonnes of cash at him. It's his life and I would wish it for my kids even if they ended up in some fake vanity project "footballing" theme park for a couple of years. The money he'll earn is both fabulous and obscene.
I just want the Caicedo saga sorted then everyone can move on and we don't have to listen to fake Chelsea thickets whining like big sissy girls anymore.

Very true, but as long as he’s getting paid at all then the same theory holds true.

The Chinese Super League was partially killed off due to the Chinese FA severely restricting the amount of foreign players because they wanted to develop home grown talent. I don't really see the same thing happening with the Saudi league.

The reason why they’re investing so much in football, golf, other sports and areas is they’re trying to expand and diversify their economy as they’ve been 100% reliant on exported oil for the past couple of decades and they’re worried about that bubble bursting. Saudi Vision 2030.

If they don’t see success in the league and before 2030, there’s every chance they pull the finance and it goes the way of China. No one knows how it’s going to go.

Chelsea have already moved on, are looking at other targets and have already signed 2 DMs - Ugochukwu recently and Brazilian international Andrey Santos in January.

Brighton have received a bid from Saudi, who have limitless money, so will no doubt meet the price Bloom wants.

Doesn't seem complex, so should be wrapped up very quickly from here on in.

But you do see the similarities with an authoritarian regime awash in money overpaying for players to fill a league which domestic fans can’t sustain and where the weather is often wholly unsuited to football?

Saudi won’t get football tourists the way England does because football fans like to drink. And I can’t see the league taking off in Europe on telly either.

At best the Indian and African plastics will add another team to their list.

Players like Henderson are just getting a tax free pension

Absolutely. It’s a league based on players whereas the European leagues are based on clubs. There is no contest even for global plastics.
