Its about a mile and a half depending where in clapham you are ? you could probably get further from brighton station and stay in brighton

.. and really a place to avoid if you want to go to Clapham Junction (in Battersea). It's ok to describe it as "Clapham Junction", but not "Clapham" because not only is it not in Clapham, it isn't in Lambeth either.

It's at least a 30 min walk from the centre of Clapham. It's name is an historical oddity. When it was opened the owners didn't want it associated with Battersea which had a bad name at the time. So they named after somewhere else.

The area around has become known as "Clapham Junction", but Clapham Junction doesn't really exist.

Causes massive confusion especially for people looking for the Falcon Pub. Which one ?
