Where are all the posters who said Vicente would not play for us again?

I think it has been an amazing signing. it represented how far this club has come after years in the crapper and reveals a bright and exciting future where players of international class will regularly be wearing the stripes. I relish every second i have watched him live and i can't wait to see him again.

Best post of the whole thread.

If based purely on the statement of intent - agreed
I'd suggest Gus Poyet and Wayne Bridge have gained us more media coverage about direction of travel though - within the game I couldn't comment.

True about media coverage - but i really think within the game it must have made some difference. Vicente = Bruno, SD, possibly Orlandi and Ulloa, possibly even Bridge and Kuszszack. who knows if that is true? After all Gus got him in the first place.

But sod the media. Most of all, it was a statement to me, you and the rest of the Albion community. The bloke plays a different game to everyone else - but other fans won't appreciate it cos he ain't their's and they ain't watching him as closely as we do. (derby and pompey excepted)

Unfortunately, because he is so good at keeping hold the ball - the only way to get it off him is to clatter him, which has clearly taken it's toll on body and mind.

My hand is up.Never, ever, thought he'd turn out for us again, even in "cameo" roles.

Ever the cynic, though. The transfer window closes in a week or so.

Our form dipped significantly once he was in the squad? Maybe? God...
Are you saying that the addition of a world class player to the side caused us to be worse? I don't follow. I'd suggest that without him we'd have surely been a worse side?

To tell you the truth, I just get pissed off with people moaning about him. For me, when he plays, he honestly makes it worth the ticket money alone. To see a player of his caliber playing for the Albion at The Amex in front of 25 thousands people makes me so happy. After all of the years watching crap football at the Goldstone, Gillingham and sitting in the pissing rain at Withdean, it just hammers home how far we've come.

Nine minutes league action v Cardiff ( not fit ) before Saturday. No feeling his way back in....straight at it....eager, hungry...beating men, laying on chances.
In ten minutes!!!!!
