It was raining so heavily during my test that the examiner suggested I pull into a layby and wait until it eased up. He then guided me through the reversing manoeuvre with helpful tips, such as "left hand down a bit".

I was 17.

Never did. Took 4 tests before the age of 21. Failed the lot. Moved to Brighton instead. Nobody needs a car in Brighton.
