As much as I would love us to do business early, I can’t see it happening. I’m going for West Ham at home on 3rd February.

I suppose international clearance could make it as late as February 10th away at Stoke!

Assuming a new striker is coming I suspect he will be from outside the EFL or Premier League and as such able to play in the FA cup therefore my guess is that would make a nice easy way to find your feet

Hughton doesn’t sound that optimistic either. Has the appearance from all club sources of setting us up for another “we tried our best but it is more difficult than the most fans can comprehend”. Given up hoping it’s all a smokescreen before we swoop for a spectacular player as I felt in the summer.
