Knight will give him a chance in League One and I think thats the right thing to do. If we don't start well though he may go in October/November.

But I think we'll do well under McGhee next year.

It's the easiest thing in the world to say sack the manager, But then what ? You need a replacement, we can't afford to pay compensation to another club, so that rules out a man currently in a job. We appoint someone who is available, so why is he available ? Either he has been sacked from his last job or is not wanted by anyone. Third choice is to promote from within, sound familiar, didn't work in the past why should it work now. Only other way is to gamble on someone who has never managed before, if it works Dick Knight is a genius, if it doesn't, he's a prat. MM can be blamed for tactics and team selection, he can't be blamed for the gutless, pathetic performance by a bunch of excuses for footballers who only turned up yesterday for their wages.

1. The rumour about Ray Bloom wanting more shares and investing money in the club I heard some three weeks ago but I am not sure whether that is good or not as I am not sure that I trust him, his father was adiamond but him!!!
Ahem ...

I don't think the rumour is about Ray Bloom.

His father might have been a diamond.

What about his son?

I suspect that MM will still be in charge at the start of next season, how long he lasts will depend on results. We can compete with most clubs in League 1 for revenue, therefore we should be, and have been in the past, a competitive side at that level. If we struggle over the first 8-10 games, MM will probably get sacked. On the other hand, if we are in or around the play off places, MM will all of a sudden become a hero all over again and stay to lead us to another promotion!

The issue we will have next season, as we have this season is that if the squad is pretty much the same, there will be nobody to score goals. Now maybe by some miracle McGhee or whoever will uncover a goal scorer, but the fact we have not been able to at this level make me wonder.

Also for the record, even if McGhee does do well next season, he will get no credit or hero worship from me, but then that does not matter.

2 either get rid of Bob Booker and Dean white and allow MM to bring in hios own staff or get shot of all of them and bring in somebody fresh. Judging by todays performance questions must be asked about John Keeley and his goalkeeping coaching ability.
Why? Mark McGhee, Bob Booker and Dean White have an excellent working relationships. Whether MM's relationship with his stafff is better than it was with Archie Knox is somethng only Mark McGhee can answer. McGhee knew Knox would not be coming here when he took the job on. He could have gone somewhere where he could have had him as his assistant. He chose not to, and came here instead.

And why blame John Keeley? Henderson will prosper under his tutelage. Kuipers, Blayney and others seemed OK under Keeley, so why are you blaming him now?

You appear to be throwing as much shit as far around as possible with little thought for where it might land.

Fair comment, although I suspect our strikers will be able to find the net against the lesser defences in league 1. The success of the team next year will depend on exactly which players are still here and the ability of the manager (whoever that may be) to motivate them. If we can keep the majority of the team together, I think we should be capable of a top half finish, possibly play offs.

Hove, f***ing ACTUALLY.
MM will get my backing to start the season, however....

There can be NO excuses in L1, we will be a big player, no point moaning on about money and Falmer, many clubs we visit are RACKED in debt, some threatened with extinction, also no point in moaning about players not coming here, we will be in the top half of wage bills in that league, if players are choosing to go elsewhere money and facilities (yes facilities) should not come into it as much as at present.

MM must start now to talk to the players he wants to bring in, and build that team around the nucleus of talent like Lynch, Hammond, CKR, Gatting etc etc that we already have assured for next season.

MM has most of the tools required to certainly be in a play off position this yime next year, no excuses this time round, just do your best and give us a team to WANT to go and see again

Being an Albion fan isn't much fun at the moment, what with the Falmer issue, no money-no transfers and bottom of the league....

Well I think all albion supporters should pull together and be REALISTIC with our situation!!!!!

When we lose it's easy to shout "magoo out", he is an easy target! lets face it when we lose I'm pissed off all weekend and want to take out my frustration on someone like most of us I would guess.

Does it do any good shouting that at him???? Do you think that jeers the players up when they hear it? I don't think so.

After going out with someone very close to him Saturday, I got the belief he cares much more that I assumed and is genuinely as gutted as the rest of us regarding our situation.

I wish he would show this to you lot by waiving his fist around or by running up and down the touch line when we score etc..but he doesn't but that doesn't mean he does not care like us. Different peolpe show their emotions in different ways!

I think some of the posters on here should consider what I have said BEFORE they post. :glare:

Thats all.

Agreed  I find it unbelieveable that anyone would think that he doesnt care..

After hearing Chippy on the radio after the game, its obvious to me that some of the players do give a damn about loosing aswell..

Does it make you wonder that Leon and Big Mac have already got 10 goals between them in League 1 in no time at all? Comparisons between the leagues are difficult and you would be wise not to make too many definitive statements. We will need a replacement for GNW, that's true enough though.

Does anyone else thinks that smacks of a patronising statement?

How about None of the Above

McGhee will get fired at Christmas as we'll be 20th in "League One" - or Division 3 as it should be called
