There is no way RS will be with us next term, there has been zero improvement since he arrived and the club needs a major shake up if we're going to challenge for promotion next year,

so, who is the man to take us back to league one after this piss take of a season??

I think there has been some improvement since Slade arrived, although obviously not to the extent that we were hoping. None of this can be blamed on him, Adams is the man that has all but sent us down, and Slade is predictably finding it hard to turn it around with a staggering injury list.

Saying that I would not be too upset if we were able to find a decent replacement, but I think Slade is the best man for the job.

Qaulity of candidates wasn't there in Feb so can't see it improving over the summer. Don't really want to keep Slade but I reckon he might do ok if we did

I agree there hasn't been a massive improvement since he took charge, but in games such as last week and Southend we have played well without reward.

As for what I base my opinion on; if you look at Slade's past record, with Yeovil, Grimsby etc, he has shown that when he is allowed to build a team, even on a shoe-string, he is capable of challenging at the right end of the table, whether that be in League One or Two.

Looking at the money spent over the last year and a half we have more money than the team's mentioned, so I think if Slade is given the right backing he will be able to build a team capable of challenging for promotion next season, whatever league we find ourselves in.

I don't blame Slade for any of the mess we find ourselves in, as he took over a sinking ship, with clueless assistants. Let's face it, we were all expecting a man who had no experience of working with these players, with a team low on confidence, conceding goals and not scoring, and with a crippling injury list, to come in and some how keep us up when teams around us all started winning.

I was as hopeful as any, but it really hasn't materialised. However, we can all live in hope of 6 points this week to kick start the most miraculous escape since....err.... Fulham last year!

I do not believe that we have seen sufficient improvement tactics wise, despite all Slades talking that should justify him getting the job. I would sooner that we followed the route that Bamber took and appointed a player who has just retired from playing at a higher level like Mullery had and brought sucha person in for his first asppointment as a manager. All those that are mentioned are available because they have been sacked usually for not being capable and able to produce results.

I understand what you are saying but I do not feel that he has imposed himself sufficiently well enough to warrant getting the job full time. He has brought in Dicker who he apparently wanted at Yeovil who has not set the team alight and in fact has appearred to be no better than what we already have. The team havent improved tactically despite his input, perhaps this is down to his assistants who he inherited I do not know. I just do not feel that he is the answer to our problems and please dont ask me who is as I have no idea hence my idea to wait and see what or who is available in the summer.

Russel must feel ,this could be a very short contract...........bit like all the loans and end of season contracts,we have had this season.This plus trying to keep continuity,with the back room staff,must tell the owners of our club that a more focused approached is needed..........
