At Craven Cottage this afternoon.

Quite a good decision at the end of the day.

Well done referee

FFS Arsenal are just awesome at present.

As much as I dislike them they are quality.

I thought this was going to be about the Drogba incident at Villa. Clearly taken down, not only did he not get a penalty, he got booked for diving! :lolol:

Can't agree with that. I watched that Down Under & my reaction was that he dived. And I stick by it too. The only reason there may have been contact was because Drogba left his leg in

By "Down Under" then I assume you mean you were standing on your head when you saw that, Stumpy. That was as clear-cut, stone-wall penalty as you are ever likely to see. How can Drogba "leave his leg in" ? He was striding away from the defender, and was taken out from behind. The defender got nowhere near the ball, it was just a hopeless lunge.

Even O'Leary said he'd have been screaming for a pen, and for him to say that about an oppositions claims is going some for that fella.

Fascinating how opinions can be so completely opposite about the same incident though, innit.

As the commentator said, "what did the ref think was going through Drogba's mind?"

"Pulling away from the defence, superb chance for a good shot, but hey, I'll dive and see whether the ref gets fooled or not." I don't think so.

Fantastic refereeing, very few would have had the guts to change their mind like that

The decision was eventually correct, but I think the fact that the he changed his mind was not good reffing and could have repercussions in that players are going to put refs under even more pressure now.

Two things p1ss me off about football, one is this business of kicking the ball out of play because an opposition player is down 'injured', the other is players getting in the refs face questioning decisions. I always used to think what's the point of arguing as the ref will never change his mind, now I'm not so sure.

I was impressed the ref came out and explained his decision, which was refreshing. Too many just refuse to enter into any sort of discussion on the matter.
