When do the Euro 2012 qualifiers start? Who should be our team?

The Euro qualifiers must start soon.

Obviously we need a major clear-out on the pitch and a new manager.

Of those who played today I don't see any being candidates for the Euros, except possibly Milner (but he needs to improve 50%), Rooney (but only if he is in form), and maybe Gerrard and Lampard.

A manager who can communicate better with the players and who knows a bit of the history with the England squad would be a start. The likes of O'Neill or Redknapp will, no doubt, be in the frame and, if so, the England team could then have a Villa or Spurs/ex-West Ham bias.

I could see Redknapp being up for a 2-year contract. He loves to start from a position where his predecessor did shit, and this has been our worst World Cup in my lifetime.

Agreed about Milner but it should be 75% but no to Rooney, Gerrard and Lampard.

Of the 24 chosen (including Ferdinand) who will not/should not ever get another game, either by age, or ability.

We have to now look at the Euro qualifiers. Any player who is not good enough should go immediately, as should those who will be too old in two years time.

I would get Harte in straight away, from the very first game.

Out:

James
Terry
Upson
Ferdinand
Heskey
Warnock
Carragher
Lampard
King
Carrick
SWP
Dawson

Borderline

Johnson
Lennon

In:

Green (not as first choice, though and only for lack of a better).
Harte
Ashley Cole
Joe Cole
Crouch
Defoe (for lack of a better)
Rooney (on the assumption he gets his form back)
Gerrard
Barry
Milner

I bet Carragher wishes he had never agreed to come back. His first decision was the right one.

If he hadn't given in, maybe people would have been saying, "If only Cappello could have got Carrager to come out of retirement".

Wise Scholes.
