When did NSC suddenly become so right wing?

I love how Tories are branded Right wing, like they are some sort of Nazi organisation.

Of course, you cannot be considered to have a valid view unless you parade around in a woolly hat dancing like a nodding dog in the ruins of some public building you have just trashed.

It does amuse me that the Labour and Tory supporters on here can get so excited about what, in reality, is very little difference between the parties.

Since the 70s, when i was a rebellious teenager, the parties have moved so close together that, prior to this latest Government, the Liberals were the furthest to the traditional left of the three

I don't think NSC is becoming more right-wing although I think society is becoming more authoritarian and less tolerant. NSC getting closed down by authoritarian pressure because someone didn't like something that was posted during the course of a political debate being but a small example.

EDIT: And then when it came back everyone having to tread on eggshells in case they said something to upset the Authorities and get Bozza into trouble. Sad times.

I do find it sad that we tar all Muslims with the same brush - as it were. Too easy to generalise. I served with Muslims who were regularly in receipt of death threats from extremists because they were in the military - but they carried on doing the job. All people are different - they do not come with a specific mindset based on colour or race. We have the Army Diversity team in to see our students and it is a real eye-opener. The Warrant Officer walks out and asks them to tell him what they see - and they all go quiet. They see the Indian, not the soldier but they won't admit it (until later when it becomes more relaxed). We are taking all of our students to Southall to visit some places of worship and they will be shitting themselves - they rarely see a black face around here. It will be a good experience for them. It also shows that not a single student went to visit a place of worship when they were at Secondary School - something they are supposed to do. How can they understand someone else's point of view when they are protected from exposure to it?

We are also the only course to have a trans-sexual come and talk to the students - and that is brilliant. He is supposed to be in for 90 minutes and we can't get the students away from him for around 3 hours. He always sets them up by talking about what they think about trans-sexuals and then drops the bomb on them - once they have let rip! He works at a local prison and he is great because he has never refused to answer a question - he has some great stories and experiences! He is also massively dyslexic and relates to the students on this level as well!

Just far enough away from LDC
I love these tests - well done hampshire for posting it.

I'm just left -3.62 and only slightly libertarian -0.82. Happy with that as I feel it does reflect my outlook on life.

Have posted on here for a while and it tends to be less domineeringly bully-boyingly bigoted compared to the Charlton and most other clubs' message boards, but in the past month I have noticed an astonishing turn to the right wing on here. If I'm not imagining it, is it (a) former hooligans/casuals/Unionists resurfacing now they think they can get a seat to the odd game from next season - and the odd barney with Championship rival firms - rather than the windswept Withdean experience, (b) people hit by the cuts turning on the weak targets like ethnic minorities and immigrants to blame for their own job/wage losses, (c) people annoyed with the perceived 'lefty' culture of Albion under the Ayattila and co, (d) people who have always been Tory and are now no longer scared to admit it, or (e) all of the above. Perhaps there should be a poll (poll, not Pole, don't panic Daily Mail readers). Which are YOU?

You obviously haven't seen the recent thread on David Cameron in China.

Looks like you're all right wing as far as I'm concerned...

Economic Left/Right: -7.75
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -5.79

Whatever, it's just a set of questions.

The one thing that does baffle me is the number of people on here (and in real life) who still insist the Labour Party has anything to do with the left wing...

But isn't the whole left/right thing defined by your starting point ? Since the mid seventies when i first became aware of politics, the tories moved to the right under thatcher and then have stayed in the same area(ish) and then Labour moved to the right under Blair. So from my starting point, both parties have moved to the right, but does that mean both parties are now right wing ?

Hence my earlier post about the liberals

As that site points out being Left or Right wing isn't a straight line (which obviously isn't a new concept, we were told that when I studied Politics back in the 1970s).

Economically, no they weren't left wing. On the Libertarian/Authoritarian front - yes they were. Look at all the laws they passed banning, curtailing and regulating almost every single aspect of our lives.
