I've got hold of a magazine article called 'Illegal Seagulls' by Attila The Stockbroker which covers this court case in the 1990s. From reading it, it seems that the fanzine editors had to pay £6,000 in legal costs as part of the out of court settlement. And a Gull's Eye Fighting Fund was set up.
Anyone know the background to this? What was the nature of what the fanzine was being sued for? And the aftermath?
I am interested in reproducing the article on my blog and yet I definitely don't wish to open up old wounds or step on anyone's toes. I tried to find some reference to it in Build A Bonfire but there is no index at the back and at a glance I don't think it covers the case.
If anyone could fill in the gaps, I'd appreciate it.
