Our Wheelie Bin has just been emptied this morning by the wonderful people at Cityclean. Problem is with all this lovely weather it is getting rather skanky, and I dont fancy putting my head down it to scrub it out. Has any one on NSC used one of these wheelie bin cleaning services, I have seen advertised?
What are they like - anyone you particularly recommend?:shit:

Did mine the other day, lay it on the side and went over for 5 mins with a karcher. Did the job and no scrubbing needed.

I do my own:

Pour thin bleach around the sides, follow up after 5 minutes with kettle full of boiling water.
Run a bowl of hot water and empty into wheelie bin with some washing up liquid.
Take wheelie bin for a short walk thus stirring everything up.
Empty into drain.
Hose down wheelie bin and empty again.
Leave lid open to dry.

Job done.

But I am a tight *******.

You could try using an old sweeping brush with hot water and washing up liquid !

Put the wheelie bin into a horizontal position and hose down the insides , rinse and stand up the wheelie bin so you can squirt in some disinfectant , put the bin back into a horizontal position and rinse out again. 5 minutes time and effort will save you having to pay for a wheelie bin cleaning service.

why not just swap it with your neighbours?

Meopham, Kent.
Our local council have decided that a cracking idea is a "food waste bin", which long before they come to empty it has become a wriggling plastic box of about 10,000 maggots.

Progress?

I was CLEANING mine last week and UNFORTUNATELY I fell into my WHEELIE bin head first with just my LEGS dangling out from the TOP. Luckily I was YANKED out before any DAMAGE done

You were lucky then, a replacement bin would have cost around £50!

Hope that is not emptied into a drain in the road as it is illegal to put anything down them.

Why would you put your head down it unless you are going to scrub it with your hair or lick it clean

Can be re-used and will probably cost less than a company charge

Whilst cleaning the wheelie bin why not sing a little song to the tune of "Oh Grimsby Town" ?

Oh wheelie bins , oh wheelie bins , oh wheelie bins , oh wheelie bins
Oh wheelie bins are full of **** , they're full of **** , **** and more ****
Oh wheelie bins are full of ****
