I'm plumping for a nice linguine vongole with a pleasantly chilled soave.
One of my favourite combinations, although I usually do spaghetti.

Ooh, just remembered I have some clams in the freezer! Thanks, that's sorted tomorrow's post-match dinner

I remember spending a week in Rome eating ourselves stupid and hearing people in our hotel saying that they discovered a Mac Ds by the Spanish Steps and eaten there all week "as otherwise there was nowhere to eat"

I can't say Rome is my favourite city but the scran was top class

What is scran and why do people use the word?
Old word for a bar tab I believe. Meaning changed over time to going out scranning for food, i.e. not a proper home-cooked meal. Then got adopted by the military for rations and fell out of that into regular slang. Or something like that.

Most of our older slang came via the army or the navy! Now it all seems to come from Xwitter

Offal is a thing in Rome so I plan to visit some restaurants centered around this.

This is an old school traditional place

This is a contemporary place I like the look of which has a few offal dishes

Drinks wise I’ll probably go with their wine recommendations.

Florence is great for tripe and sauce buns as street food. What’s that got to with Rome…. I don’t know I’m offal at times.

If you followed the Marseille thread I somehow ended up in a cat cafe in Nice for the Marseille game, they're great for luzzing as they always land on their feet to be luzzed again.

Found a cat bistro that seems quite nice to repeat the antics.

I've been told there's an old phrase about whenever you're in this city you should do the same thing as the locals
