Cracking. I'd fully recommend it.

Very well geared towards catering for a football crowd.. (although it was starting to get crowded towards the end of last year as word spread). Additional bar outside with a couple of marquees, and decent food. Not just your standard pub hot dog.

Get involved.

.... and they mostly make it home only, especially the second half of the season after there were increasing numbers of away fans creeping in.

I tried it once for an evening game (can't remember which one?) towards the end of last season as I was really early so just had a quick pint before going across to the ground. Friendly staff, I'll probably go again this season.

I got a personal 'escort' across the footbridge and around the pond with a steward trying to ascertain exactly where I was going by making small talk with me. He walked with me right up until the Falmer farm shop when I said to him "You do realise I'm going to the football don't you?"

He turned around and walked back, I assume, to The Swan.

Very odd.

The stewards always try to stop you walking the footbridge route, but if you are feeling militant some people just ignore them or quote public right of way, they just let you carry on.

I forgot to mention that the staff are very friendly.

Me and my Dad started going there from about the Blackpool game onwards until the end of the season. Before the final home game the guy who works the outdoor bar (looks like Phil Mickelson) wandered over and gave us two pints on the house from the landlord.. Thanked us for our support throughout the season. Very nice touch I thought.

I'm up for this, especially if weather is good, as it means I can have a crafty ciggie or 3 before kick off
