CD from a new band, happy to pay for physical media than streaming so they get more money.
I still then rip CDs and use an old fashioned MP3 player when travelling as it has much better sound and means I can get away from the phone. When flying for business also means I can keep listening to music for hours without worrying about my phone’s battery life.
A couple of tracks on Vinyl that I think only @Gabbafella on here would have heard of, but I think he went to a rave last night & if he 'danced' probably won't be able to walk yet.
Also purchased a 2nd hand audio cassette player & a VHS player, in my day they were known as a tape player & a video player. Both purchased for Jnr & I have already had to show him what a biro is for & how to extract tapes just before they get completely chewed up! They are 30 year old tapes & it's just a case of press play & record it, or digitise it if we're being modern! That just means headphone socket to USB cable & Audacity on his laptop & an upload to YouTube if it's anything exciting! I expect cutting & splicing tapes will be the next thing I show him if he doesn't press stop fast enough.
I did nearly watch Chicken Run the other day as that was the first video I came across to test the video player. Jnr just said to watch it later on Netflix or Prime, I thought that was slightly ironic!
As an aside, been listening to a bit of Ren on YT recently. Lot of his videos are shot in Brighton I noticed. Not really into rap (or whatever his genre is) but I like a lot of his stuff. Very thought provoking and from the heart.
Arrived yesterday. I have an obsession with Syliphone Records. The Guinea state label produced some phenomenal music in a period of exciting experimentation as to how music should be funded and produced. I now own a third of the 78 LPs recorded.
