The MK Seagulls had a member, sadly passed away a few years ago called Alf, he was 91, and first went to the Goldstone in 1918 and was a friend of Tommy Cook. A wonderful old man and he was sent off to the tune of Sussex-by-the-Sea, in his Albion retro shirt and a blue and white bedecked coffin.

Every other bugger in the 200-odd crowd had sensibly taken cover under the roof at one end of the ground. Talk about wide open spaces
