The reason I ask is I saw this yesterday:

The greatest recorded crowd at any football match was 199,854 for the Brazil v Uruguay World Cup Final in the Maracana Municipal Stadium, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on July 16th 1950.

I think all mine have been at Wembley (the original) watching the Albion or England so around the 70,000 - 80,000 mark I guess.

What's yours?

In which case, the largest crowd I've been a part of is 99,059... unless the few England matches I attended were higher.

Used to go to all the Scotland v England Home Internationals in the Seventies when Hampden had a capacity well in excess of 100,000. So must be one of those.

Highest league attendance was 58,000 Chelsea V Leeds 1971 (or 1972 can't remember excatly).

Goldstone was probably the Rochdale promotion match under Sayward. Don't know if the gate was bettered under Mullery??

99,059 it is then.

Followed by 91,534.

Then 90,000 for an England Friendly against Brazil in the 80's

Then 83,000 for England - Ukraine two weeks ago.

Been to several Wembley sell outs for England and also a Charity Shield in the 80s but no idea of the crowd figure.

My biggest Albion attendance was 19,800 at The Goldstone for the final game of the 1988 season when we beat Bristol City (I think it was) 2-1 to get promoted. Stood at the back of the North Stand, pressed back against the wall and then we all piled on the pitch at the end of the game. First time I'd ever done that!

Simple, FA Cup Final 1983, over 100,000 I think. To all those who only know modern football i.e The Premiership, the atmosphere back then was simply amazing. I can still remember as 13 year old the hairs standing up on the back of my neck when the teams came out, nothing else compares since or probably ever will.

99,059 then, as far as I know.

I went to many games at the old Wembley, England in the main, don't know if any of them were more than the '83 cup final.
