Last year I wrote a brief review online of a domestic product on a consumers website.
Didn't realise your name goes into a draw.

Won £700 of John Lewis vouchers. Total surprise, and came in very useful at the time.

Despite years of trying, only ever won £10 on Lotto. Very very rarely watch the draw. Their winning e-mails get the adrenalin going, until ..... You open it up.

£220 on the 2004 Grand National.

I know naff all about horse racing, but my step-daughter is called Amber, and my best mate is called Leigh, so I stuck £10 e/w on Amberleigh House @ 16/1

That was my wedding day. I had a fiver on Amberleigh House at 25/1 ante post

A Golden Boot trophy from Barnet Football Club Supporters Association just over five years ago, presented on the pitch from a player. Nerve-wracking moment. Still sitting on my window sill but never likely to win another one now with my pace gone and playing limited.

Very annoying - an old classmate of mine won the grand national (ie was the jockey) a couple of years back at odds of 100-1. I had put a fiver on another horse, if I'd known he was running I would've put the fiver on him no question, probably more.

I have had a few occasions with lady luck.

My 1st was when i had an 11 team accumulator on a £10 stake. Was my 1st ever big win (well big in my word), United had just hammered Roma 5-0 in the Champions League and i had 10 of the 11 up, The David Villa popped up in injury time to give Valencia a 2-1 win and bring the bet home. Picked up a tasty £3500 from Ladbrokes (The women behind the counter asked if i wanted a bag, i ended up with it all stuffed in a brown envelope, couldnt help but feel i was being watched)

i have also had some nice wins on VC Poker who run a $20k tourney every evening with a $10 buy in. Come 1st on 3 occasions pocketing a tasty £3800 from each.

But my greatest triumph came last season, i had a 6 team accumulator with a £20 stake, it rolled home giving me £750. i was studying the Racing Post and found a coupke of young fillies that took my attention so there i was online placing a £25 treble on 3 horses, 2/1, 3/1 and a massive 16/1.

I was at work and had seen the 2/1 and 3/1 had romped home so it was down to my 16/1 shot Dubai Gold, i had to sneak of it the toilet and watch the live updates on my phone, you can imagine my joy when he came home 1st! That paid out a tasty £6500! i had £7000 in my online account, the following week i lumped £500 on Celtic, Brighton to beat Barnsley and Tottenham to beat Wolves. Again all 3 won, I managed to get my account up to £13k. After generously given Mr Bookmaker back around £2k i decide that was it, the £11k would come out of the account, It paid for a nice Bathroom!!

This season i havent had so much luck, i had an £20 8 accumulator that had 7 winners from 3 o clock kick offs that would of paid £4500 put Arsenal went and lost 1-0 to Norwich!

I was counting the cash in my head all the way home from the Amex only to turn the Arsenal game on and nearly choke to death!

Still i won't stop now as i am sure there is another big win just waiting around the corner!

I am what would be classed as a serious "comper" and spend an hour or so each day entering online competitions, I have been doing it for the last 4 years seriously. Have never paid to enter one but have been lucky enough to win a holiday to Vegas, holiday to Florida, Centre Parcs x 2, holiday to Canada etc along with some other big prizes £500 in Sainsburys vouchers, a watch and handbag worth £1000, a laptop etc I tend to win on average 10 prizes a month in varying sizes

When I first started doing it I thought it was impossible and people exaggerating prizes won but when you consider that on the last day of the month there will be 1000+ competitions ending that day and about 100-200+ each day of the month as well its a numbers game, the more you enter the more you win. What you win is where the luck is

I use the comping board on moneysavingexpert but as I say its pretty dull entering them - its like having a 2nd data entry job but there are people on there for have won far more than me
