Edinburgh is great fun especially festival time but needs to be a long weekend. Bath and Bristol are great as is London!

Had a great time in Dublin and Galway in the last couple of years. Not the cheapest but both great cities.

Portmeirion, York, Skye, Eigg, Wharfedale
Was going to say Bath, but you have been.
Recently went to Bristol, that was good.
Rye is nice and a bit closer to home.
Swanage in Dorset, only in the summer.
In recent years we have done weekends in York, Edinburgh, Weymouth, London 3 times, Herne Bay, Stratford upon Avon,Lyme Regis, and Dublin. The best was Edinburgh, the worst, Herne Bay

Watergate Bay Hotel, Watergate Bay, nr Newquay. Went last November on the 3 night Taste of the Bay deal (includes Jamie Oliver's Fifteen Restaurant). Fantastic hotel, even better as out of season. Can't go wrong whatever the reason for the visit.
