Yes, but you are an old school cloth-ears.
Synth and punk is not my style and I’d suggest that you need cloth ears to actually enjoy the mind numbingly dull repetitive beat

Hold my hands up to old school though.

Imagine how dull life would be if we all liked the same music though. I have been converted to some of the stuff that my kids played having hated it initially. The Smiths and Nirvana spring to mind (my kids are now middle aged!)

I have the same attitude to 90s guitar 'rock'. We were watching a tribute to Irish music on the tellybox last night.
Some terrific performances from Thin Lizzy and later on a brilliant concert by the Undertones,
But in the middle was a load of utter derivative shite: Ash, and some other crap whose names escape me.
This music coincided with my son's musical awakening so he loves all this stuff. It leaves me cold.

Back in the day some of my pals refused to listen to anything that had no lead guitar.
I remember Tubeway Army's first single played on the radio 1 new releases show.
Tony Blackburn said there was no future for 'synthesizer' based music.
I tutted.
