I shall miss the 2 very fine indian take-aways in Saltdean when I move house on Friday.

my new local take-away will be Agra Tandoori on five ways and I've had it on more than one recommendation that they are very good :clap2:

At the foot of the downs
Nooris in Middle Street (or near there) used to be good. Not been there for a while though.

it was shut down for health and safety reasons, its open again now but I wouldn't !!!!

Ashoka gets my vote

Curry Mahal along Portland Road is very nice
The Elizabethan in Patcham is also excellent (but mind your head)

I didn't mind my head last time I was there, it hurt muchly.

I think overall the risk of serious injury is worth it though.
I also like the TOILET there. Not often you have to piss whilst standing up a slope.

I've not yet found a curry house in Brighton that I would really rave about though have heard good stuff about Indian Summers food also and have had some pretty decent curries from the Spice Nutriment on Queens Road

If you want a traditional Flock wallpaper curry house Ashoka is as good as any. If you're looking for something a little more modern (and more expensive) Indian Summer is worth a visit.
