Blame Hezbollah for starting it.They killed there soldiers and kidnapped them. They deserve the full force of Israel. Why do Lebonese government have they these militants in there country in the first place?I get fed up with hearing this 1967 resolution.Sort them out Israel and Hammas for good this time

This is how Israel is sorting things out:

Yes, there are also civilians also dying from Hizbollah rockets, many less than from Israel's attacks but a life is a life. Anyone with a shred of humanity would be calling for an immediate cease fire. Why aren't Bush and Blair doing this? Why are the so-called civilised governments of the Western world standing by and allowing Israel to conduct mass slaughter of civilians?

Why are we not doing anything to stop it?

However, good news. At a recent boarding, a bearded man attempted to join a ship.

"Oi, all those who think they are leaving Lebanon and going to the UK on a Royal Naval ship, take one step forward".

"Sheikh Omar Bakri Mohammed, where do you think you are going!"

It would appear that Allah wishes for him to stay in Lebanon and meet the raiding IDF invaders.

Why are they still occupying post-1967 war land in violation of so many UN resolutions (which don't seem to count to the Security Council as it is Israel) then?

I don't know if the latest invasion is an excuse by Israel for more regime change among its neighbours.

But with all the international focus on Iran and a very complicated Middle East conflict cartoonised in the US media as part of their dumb War on Terror, it's certainly a very convenient time for the Israeli military to go in and slaughter a few opponents while the going looks good for them.

Whether they get away with it is up to people of conscience throughout the world

Perhaps if the rest of the Arab world put their money where their mouths are , instead of spending their oil billions on floating gin palaces, houses in Monaco, , penthouse suites in Mayfair, shopping in Harrods and 72 wives, and provide a big enough force to ensure safety, and enough money to provide infrastructure and prosperity to their brother moslems in these impoverished areas, instead of blaming the evil west and Israel, the average joe ( ahmed?!), would not bend too easily to the will of the 'mad mullahs' and we would see a little of the peace you obviously crave.

No\yes?

Interesting contradiction........................

You advocate western intervention here, but sleight the interventions of the west/nato in Bosnia/kosovo/Afghanistan/Iraq etc etc.

Bit selective eh?

This really is getting beyond a joke. Israel is the biggest stain on this planet during my lifetime.

How the hell they can justify the murder of hundreds of children and bombing a country back to the middle ages, because terrorists, not even connected to the government of Lebanon, kidnapped TWO soldiers is beyond me.

Yet again our government acts sickeningly as the US's lapdog. The actions of Israel are disgusting, and its backed to the hilt by the Yanks, is it any wonder we have so many extremists wanting to harm us?

Iraq was a hostile invasion which has led that country to a civil war from which it will never recover and the death of hundreds of thousands is on our hands.

Bosnia we did pretty much f*** all whilst they slaughtered each other, we should have done more.

Kosovo we did the right thing imo. Imo this is exactly the same scenario as a Kosovo and we should be defending the Lebanese, but alas Israel = America so we cant do that can we.

Freed into what? Regional dictatorships run by Rogue Sheiks who impose strict local Islamic law. A country on the brink of civil war. Ruined infrastructure. The threat of being blown up every day by a car bomb.

We havent improved anything, we have made it worse.

Yep. South Africa sorted itself out internally with no aggressive invasions by the west.

Really???...... only after 35 years or so and thousands of dead citizens..... and dont try and pull the wool mate, the anti-apartheid movements were clamouring for intervention, military/economic and any other way that could be brought to bear, wake up man, wake up.

I didnt deny that anyone was clamouring for intervention, but it didnt happen though, as they had no oil.

But we didnt go into Iraq because of ANYTHING Saddam had done to his people, we went in because of WMDs, but we all know it was purely for the gain of American business in reality.

Yawn. oil again!............. kosovo/Bosnia/croatia.... = no oil.... or did we intervene to protect the tourist rights on this occasion?!?

Sierra Leone = no oil, East Timor = no oil, Haiti = no oil, Eritrea = no oil, Somalia = no oil, CAR = no oil all Nato/West/UN missions.

The difference is a tad more danger, but hey, isnt that what armed forces do?... shoot or be shot at. WMDs were the excuse, Un wouldn't intervene on purely the slaughter of the population by Saddams Sunni henchmen.......I think they should, and Zimbabwe..... its a question of resources and countries like germany/Spain/Norway/Phillipines/Russia/China/France who all decline involvement in overseas actions, but are happy to accept the benefits of the global economy/infrastructure, and very quick to chastise those who seek to defend where defence is seen to be required.
