My daughter is looking to try and move from her first flat into a first house. Shes fairly young and lives on her own and she has seen two places which sort of fit the budget. One is around America Lane area of HH, the other off Cants Lane in BH.

Anyone have any knowledge of either area please.

When I first moved to Sussex an estate agent suggested a house in America Lane ('close to the lovely village of Lindfield' apparently).....I parked up, only to have a stone thrown at the car from a group of feral-looking kids. Didn't even bother going in. The area used to have a bit of a reputation but not sure if this is still the case. Cant's Lane is generally alright imo - plenty of new houses been built just off it too.

As an ex Hillian i would of said Haywards Heath over Burgess Hill any day. But not America Lane.....avoid like the plague !

Cants lane is nice my parents live just off it and have lived in BH for 50 odd years.

I grew up on Boston Road just off America Lane from mid 60’s to early 80’s. It was fine unless venturing down to The Bentswood estate 😂
