Deep south
Corner House and Cow n Oak both do a good roast.
Another vote for Ami and Crabshack.
New Amsterdam pub a mix of young and old.
Coast in the evening, 80’s night is brilliant, plus I’ve done the rave one too. :rave::rave:

I've not been but there's a highly rated Spanish restaurant in Ferring of all places

https://andaluciasussex.co.uk/

Can confirm it's good, been many times.

Re: in town, a little family run Italian that was always great - Pomodoro Mozzarella. Not sure if they've moved premises but always good.

Aunty Bunny's hut for Jamaican/Spanish fusion - think Jerk Chicken Nachos.

Perch on the Pier has glorious views as others have said. Decent grub too.

Shout out to Thai Street Food, simply the best Thai locally.

And the woman in charge is nicely mad….. A shout for the Italian Cuchinetta’s in Portland Road. They can actually cook.

The Grape is excellent. Lovely wines and tapas.
Down on the beach, Bayside Social is great on a sunny day.

Have to disagree with the people saying the Cow & Oak do a good roast. I was massively disappointed, but perhaps I went on an off-day

Agreed, had some average roasts. They’ve previously had some bad form as an employer, pretty sure they’ve had some run ins at a tribunal and subsequently lost

Lots of good mentions already, that I'd second. I'll add...

Coffee Camp in Findon Valley - https://www.thecoffeecamp.com - if you're a coffee drinker, or even if you're not. On Friday nights it morphs into Wine Camp, and is a nice chilled venue for adult beverages.

Grizzly Bear micro-pub - https://www.facebook.com/thegrizzlybearwestworthing/ - just north of West Worthing crossing.

Hand Brewery's Taproom in West Worthing - https://handbrewco.com/breweryandtaproom - a hidden gem with some great people, often with a food truck visiting. (Toad in the Hole mentioned elsewhere has also been taken over by Hand Brewery now)

Refreshment Rooms - https://www.facebook.com/highsalvingtonrefreshmentrooms/ - it's finally possible to get a drink in High Salvington. Another nice place run by good people and there are generally food trucks on Thursday and Friday evenings.

I used to stay in Worthing during summer holidays as a kid with an aunt who really wasn’t an aunt. Many days spent at the Lido and fishing on the pier. Later in life a mate of mine opened a night club on the pier that’s probably the last time I went to Worthing.

Rutherford's on the Pier was amazing. Long gone now tough.

It was a number of years ago so may be outdated, but I feel the same about AMI Bistro.

Felt like it thought it was much higher class than it was, in terms of the gap between price and quality of food/decor.

Maybe I was just unlucky, or it was under different ownership?

Hare and Hounds is a very decent traditional pub, does very good freshly prepared food.

If you're lucky, you might see Richie Reynolds hosting a pub quiz.

Not forgetting Tuesday is live free jazz night
